Chalk on the Block
June 3 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
We are excited to announce the third annual Chalk on the Block event hosted by the Woodland Farmers Market on Saturday, June 3rd. The Woodland Farmers’ Market, will starting the 2017 season and this is a community event that helps to provide a space where our local farmers and community members can come together to sell and have access to fresh, local fruits and vegetables and local artisan products.
This year, the Saturday Market at the library will be more exciting than ever. The 2017 season will bring more family events every Saturday so check out our calendar on the web site at www.thewoodlandfarmersmarket.org. For the Farmers Market, First Street between Court and North Street in front of the library will be blocked, creating a family friendly environment for the entire season. This location allows us to have a great partnership with the library and they also help us bring more fun event for the kids during the market hours.
Chalk on the Block will provide the opportunity for local artists and community members to come together to create unique squares of artwork at the library. Past years have been such a huge success and so much fun for everyone we wanted to do it again.
This event serves as both a way to educate about healthful living through art and as a fundraiser directly supporting the Woodland Farmers Market. Art is a great way to communicate ideas about healthy eating, especially to our younger community members.
Your participation in Chalk on the Block will help the Woodland Farmers Market to continue to provide events for kids and to educate the community about the value of eating locally grown produce. The Woodland Farmers Market is a 501c3 Non profit organization so your support as a sponsor of this event can be tax deductible for you or your business.
We are offering different square sizes to support through sponsorship. See below for more information about options for support;
2.5’x2.5’ for $75.00 or 5’x5’ for $150. This year we have 4 special squares that are 8’x9’ that form a circle and will be $300.00 each. You can purchase one or more of these configurations to accommodate your artist’s design.
We also want the children who come to the market to be able to participate with an interactive project, in the “Doodle Zone.” The Doodle Zone is a group of special squares where kids will be invited to draw their favorite fruits and vegetables and thanks to the Nugget Market, they have offered to sponsor this section once again this year.
You can also be part of this fun day by sponsoring an artist or purchasing a square. You and your business will benefit by knowing you are supporting a local non-profit organization that helps to educate our community on the importance of a healthy life style by eating locally grown fruits and vegetable, supporting local farmers as well as supporting Woodland’s heritage which is agriculture. Being able to deduct your donation is just an added bonus.
